The Certified Inspections Mold-Testing Start-Up Business was developed by Mark N. Jones, the president of Certified Structural & Environmental Inspections, Inc., known as Certified Inspections, Inc. and is based on over 20 years of his experience developing a proven business model in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut metro area. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Mark has a long, fruitful track record of business experience beginning in 1975 which includes the fields of restaurant/nightclub management, non-ferrous scrap metal recycling industry production and sales, college professor, teacher in the fields of music, art and martial arts, playground equipment sales, design, manufacturing and installation nationwide, and home inspection and environmental testing.

In the fields related to mold testing, Mr. Jones’ credentials include:

  • Graduate of Kent State University
  • Post-graduate work at Columbia University
  • Graduate of B.O.C.E.S. course in home inspection
  • Graduate of The Building Specs Institute of Home Inspection & Environmental Testing
  • Graduate of the BTS Laboratory course in mycology (mold) identification, pathology and treatment
  • Graduate of the EMSL Analytical Laboratory course in Indoor Air Quality testing
  • Monthly continuing education courses through ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) and yearly NY Metro-ASHI Education Seminars
  • Author of numerous articles on inspection and testing issues
  • Experience in building design and renovation
  • Frequent lecturer to real estate professionals, including key-note speaker at the Putnam County Board of Realtors
  • Current or past membership in NAHI (National Association of Home Inspectors), NAPI (National Association of Property Inspectors), ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors), National Society of Environmental Consultants, National Environmental Health Association, AARST (American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists), ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers), National Pest Control Association, and the International Association for Energy Economics

When Mr. Jones started Certified Inspections, Inc., he brought with him over 20 years of experience developing and running his own businesses. What he noticed about his competition in this field was how inefficiently they ran their businesses. Despite being only a one man operation in a region with a sizable number of competitors, Mark was able to corner a large segment of the market and earn many times that of his competitors with far greater profit margins. That is the reason he decided to help others do the same. His winning formula has significant value that could benefit other ambitious entrepreneurs throughout the world. He has performed mold assessments for thousands of homes, businesses, schools, churches, sports facilities, doctors’ offices, nursing homes & other health care facilities, real estate management companies, contractors, engineers & architects, and high-end billionaires’ properties.
